RWOP: Camera strap cover

Since getting my new baby, er...camera, for Christmas, I have been wanting a strap cover.  However, spending another $40 or $50 just wasn't feasible, so I decided I would have to wait.

Then along comes Pinterest.  With a tutorial of how to make your own.  Add that to a wonderful mother-in-law with sewing prowess and a love of her daughter-in-law (that's me) and you have a recipe for a Real Women of Pinterest post and a happy girl with a fancy camera strap cover!

Notice the details of the added Initial charms..."H" for Heather, and "M" for Michelle.  Yep, she even made one for my big sis.  Told you she was awesome.

I can't wait to get out and do some mad photo-taking sessions...once this bear of a class is over, that is.

That's my mother-in-law, Kay, in the white shirt.  She went shopping for the fabric with me, told me how much to get (although I got WAY too much of the fusable fleece despite her guidance), then went home and whipped them up in less than three hours.  Seriously, she rocks.

Visit the tutorial in the caption of the first pic if you want to make your own.  As much as I love you all, I'm not willing to share my mother-in-law.  She's one in a million.

OK... I'm drooling in jealousy :)

Those straps are SOOOO expensive! I dont understand why... until I realize there are people like me that dont know how to sew & would pay to have one :)

So... your MIL want to make some side cash? Tell her I'll pay her to make me one too... seriously! :)

I love them. Great pattern and colors with the adorable monogram. Kay really should put herself out there to make a little cash. I'm excited for you.

Beautiful! The fabric is similar to a scrapbook paper I have around here that I've used in multiple projects because I like it so much. I got a sewing machine from my parents for Christmas, and can't wait to find the time and space to learn how to use it!

Those camera straps are fabulous! I think you won the mother-in-law jackpot, but I imagine Kay would say she won the daughter-in-law jackpot. Maybe E... can hire her for some sewing lessons?

Love the fabric and the little owl tags. Tell me, do you hire Kay out from time to time? Maybe just for those of us with serious sewing deficiencies?? =>

I'm totally jealous of the adorable camera strap, but I'm seriously jealous of your AWESOME M-I-L! Mine is a total waste and I can barely stand to live in the same city as her, much less be in her presence. You're really lucky! You sure I can't borrow her for like a couple of hours? :-)

WOW! I'm speechless. And I like making money. So I would be interested in making the camera straps for anyone who would like me to make them one.

How much were you thinking of charging, Kay?
