I couldn't resist...

Okay all you commenters out there who clearly don't mind cleaning out litter boxes and paying exhorbitant vet fees, I have one thing to say to you:

Isabel is coming to live with you, with her kitten.

No, I haven't caved in yet. But I know I'm gonna. Probably in December, when she turns 9. The girl is so sweet, and well-behaved, and does well in school, and helps me out with Gabe immensely. How can I say no?

Your comments did NOT help my case. But Isabel loved reading them. "See, Mom, look what Becky wrote" (I'm so getting you for that, girl). And when she prayed tonight, it was all "Dear God, please please please let mommy change her mind about getting a kitten for me. Amen." And then it was, "I'll just ask for money for my birthday, and if I get presents, I'll sell them on eBay and use the cash for my kitten". Man, this girl is determined. Who am I to stand in the way of that?

So, the hard part will come in December, when we have to pick the right kitten. I was looking at photos on the internet tonight, and came across these adorable balls of fluff:

Awww, how could you not just love these kitties?

And then, I came across this one. WTF?

Apparently, this is the cat born to Cyclops. I'm sorry, I just could not resist posting this picture. It kind of cured me of the kitten-fever, for now anyway. I have not let the kids see this, and I probably won't go out of my way to show them, either. Too much risk for nightmares. Although, it might cure Isabel's case of kitten-fever, too. Hmmm...
*Shudder*. Naah, I'll just keep this one between us, okay?

I seen that picture somewhere of that kitten. I would much rather the top one. She will be so excited to get her kitten.

Girl, you crack me up.

I am so NOT a cat person... and those pictures assured me of my anti-feline position.

I'm with Tiffany! I think my family must hate me. I am allergic to cats yet everyone in my family finds it necessary to have one, what is up with that?

There is a "Free Kitten" sign in front of Grafield park.(hint hint)

P.S. Kittens are born in the spring. It might be hard to find one still little in the winter.. I know I have tried. Come Spring and Summer they will be in every pet store, and shelter imaginable!

Well, what can I say. She is my adorable granddaughter and I love cats (I'm sorry Michelle). I think you should go ahead and get a kitten for her now. She is a very responsible little girl (more like going on 20). Heather, I'm
sorry but I am on Isabel's side. I still love you.

That picture...shudder.

I'm not a pet person...but that doesn't stop my kids and my husband from whining ang begging. A cat is out of the question (my husband is allergic), but OH, they want a dog.

What I want if we get a dog? A maid.

Okay that cured me for life on a kitten. I am NOT a cat person and thank goodness my daughter is severly allergic to them. She will do the whole Kermit the Frog bulging eyes and hivey face thing around them.
Suggestion: Does anyone around you have a cat that she could pet-sit for a while? Maybe a few weeks of taking care of the litter box will cure that desire OR maybe it will show you that she is really ready for a pet and responsible enough that it does not become your pet.
Good luck - she is really too cute to say no to, that is the magic of our daughters, huh!

EEEEEEEEK! I just nearly screamed at that last photo! FREAKY - let's just pray it was a photoshop job! hahaha

It would be super hard to not buy a kitten for such an adorable child. :)

See Heather...I am with your mother! Even your MOTHER say you should get her one. That's got to count for something.

And what's up with all the meaness about cyclops. He can't help God made him that way...and I think he is kinda cute. He didn't live long. He died shortly after his birth. I'm so sad...you people are mean!

I'm not a cat person either....total dog person. But if I were to get a cat I would definately get a ragdoll (that's the breed name)...everyone that I've talked to that has one says that they have so many dog like tendencies, which drew me to the breed.
